About Us

Naomi Mwasambili


Co-Founder and PI

Naomi is the CEO of Chanua and supports all areas of programme and strategic development. With a background in Research, Psychology and Mental Health, she is currently completing research in the use of technology for early intervention and identification of children’s emotional, behavioural and neurodevelopmental needs. Naomi loves to travel, sing, dance and grow her own food!

Megan Charles


Co-Founder and Clinical Lead

Megan is the COO of Chanua and Clinical Lead for Neuro Champions programme. Megan supports all areas of facilitation and programme management. With a background in Psychology and Mental Health, Megan is a qualified Art Psychotherapist and registered with the HPC. Megan loves to travel and is an avid lover of baked goods!

Regina Sanders


Project and Safeguarding Lead

Regina is the Neuro Champions Project and Safeguarding Lead. Regina is a qualified and experienced consultant social worker. With over ten years experience in Safeguarding and Youth Justice sectors. She supports in all areas of project management and safeguarding ensuring our programmes are safe for the young people we work with. Regina loves a good comedy.

Juliette Simpson


Project Co-ordinator

Juliette is our Neuro Champions project co-ordinator and supports on all areas of project delivery. She has a completed her masters in clinical and health psychology from the University of Liverpool. She enjoys being outdoors and camping. She also loves live music, whether it’s seeing her favourite band or something she stumbles upon randomly!

Glicinia Danso


Neuro Champions Facilitator

Glicinia is Neuro Champions Facilitator. She  facilitates the young leaders programme and supports the Neuro Champions to create messages based on research that can be shared online. In addition she promotes well-being through the social media. She recently graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University with a 1st Class in Psychology.

Rona Farley


Neuro Champions Young Leader

Rona is 17 and our Neuro Champions Young Leader. She is currently studying English literature, RE and Psychology at A-level. Over the past 2 years she has worked with the Liverpool safeguarding board as well as being a young advisor. She loves street dance and has been doing it for 6 years.

Leah Murray


Neuro Champions Young Leader

Leah is our Neuro Champions Young Leader and photographer, she started taking photographs in 2015 and is currently studying photography at Liverpool City College. Leah says photography ‘sets her free and releases her stress’ and in addition to drawing and singing.

Sarah Burns


Neuro Champions Young Leader

Sarah is our Neuro Champions Young Leader. She is studying Health and Social Care at the City of Liverpool College. She enjoys learning new things as she is also doing a part-time youth work course. She also likes to challenge herself and likes to see how much she can push her limits.

Dr Kajal Gohil


Neuro Champions Advisor

Kajal is a Clinical and Community Psychologist, having trained at the University of Exeter, UK.  She has extensive experience of working therapeutically with children, young people and their families and is currently a specialist in autism diagnostic services across both the public and private sector. She specialises in narrative therapy, social inequalities and a community psychology perspective. A lover of animals she is very interested in developing animal assisted therapy to her practice in the future.
